Ipswich schoolboy Fynn Clarke launches streetwear line Flyer Apparel
A 14-year-old boy has launched his own streetwear brand inspired by the ‘vibes, colour and spirit’ of Ipswich.
Fynn Clarke set up Flyer Apparel in the hopes of creating a Suffolk-based alternative to fast fashion.
He has spent the past few months building hype on TikTok and Instagram and will begin taking orders once his website launches at 7pm today.
Fynn said: “It’s all about giving Suffolk its own streetwear brand that will appeal to people around my age, while fitting in to the aesthetics of other clothing lines.
“Most are based in London, so this is a little something local. I was inspired by the vibes and colours of the waterfront and the spirit of the town.
“I’m all ready to go.”
To start, Flyer Apparel offers three types of t-shirt, a hoodie, a jumper, a pair of jogging bottoms, shorts and a panel jersey.
All items will be printed on demand and should arrive within 10 to 14 days, but should the initial wave prove successful, Fynn hoped to ramp things up by pre-ordering stock to get it to customers quicker.
Fynn hosted his first merchandise drop in March and the feedback and skills developed have helped shape the launch.
“So far it has been an amazing experience,” Fynn said. “I started off by drawing the designs onto paper before bringing them to life on my iPad.
“I spent about four months searching for the right manufacturer and I designed the website myself and shot a TikTok promo around Ipswich.”
Fynn is set to study business, graphics and IT for his GCSEs and hopes to use what he learns from his clothing brand to shape his future career.
He has ambitions of becoming a graphic designer, working in marketing or anything related to business.

Regarding being a young business owner, he added: “I love brands, I love music and I love designing things. It started as a hobby but it’s turning into an industry.
“I feel really happy. There are times where it is really fun and I get a real high and some times where you feel it’s not going to go right.
“However it goes, it’s all good, it’ll always play out. I’ve had great support and feedback from friends and people on social media.
“All this has filled me with a lot of confidence going into launch.”
