Felixstowe Town Council elects Cllr Corrine Fraklin as new mayor for upcoming year




A town council has elected its new mayor for the upcoming year.

Labour councillor Corrine Franklin was voted by her fellow councillors to serve as the Mayor of Felixstowe.

She took over the ceremonial role from Cllr David Rowe at yesterday’s annual town council meeting.

Cllr Franklin said: “It is a great honour and privilege to be elected as the mayor and I would like to thank all those that voted for me.

“A special thanks to the outgoing mayor, Councillor David Rowe, who did a fantastic job last year.

“My theme for this year is community. I would like my mayoral year to highlight all the people, organisations and groups which make Felixstowe the wonderful place it is.

“I am looking forward to the year ahead.”

Cllr Franklin has been a member of the town council since 2023.

Cllr Darren Aitchison has been elected as the town’s Deputy Mayor.
