The Fox Inn in Eastgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, could see makeover with fresh paint and signs under new plans

A Bury St Edmunds pub could be in line for a makeover as proposals for a fresh paint job and updated signs have been submitted.

Pub giant Greene King has lodged an application with West Suffolk Council for works at The Fox Inn in Eastgate Street.

The plans include repainting the outside and installing new signs and lighting.

If approved, the revamp would see two fascia signs, four sets of sign-written graphics, two amenity boards, a menu case and a door plaque added to the front of the building.

Additional features include 11 small lanterns, six floodlights and a post-mounted pictorial sign with two more amenity boards.

If approved, work is expected to take place over a week, from September 9 to 16, where scaffolding and barriers would be put in place, existing signs removed, the 15th-century building repainted and new signage installed.
